The independent is a great place to watch live music. I do suggest bringing ear plugs because both bands were so loud that without protection it would have been hard to hear. Staff is very present and attentive to making sure everyone is safe. I don't drink so they did have one na beer but it would have been nice if they upgraded from Becks to something a little more flavourful.

I was worried about going because I can't physically stand all night long and I emailed the independent and they said that they'd have reserved seating for me and a friend. When I got there there was reserved seating along the wall for us. The bartenders were awesome the security staff was awesome! I can't wait to go back.

I never get to stand up front to any shows, way too expensive these days. Independent is a great venue, and if you feel like being in the middle of the action, you just stand there. Tons of fun.
